Foxmoor Kennel is
a family owned and operated pet care center. Our mission is to offer the best in quality care for your beloved pet.
In 1986, a basenji named Bishop
came to visit a suburban household in North Harris County; thus began what would later become Foxmoor Kennel. In 1988, Teri
Boyd moved her aspiring business to Tomball, Texas where it remains today - just a little bigger. The kennel is
located on 7 spacious acres and can accomodate approximately 90-100 pets. We are family owned and operated and take
great pride in knowing that we are giving all of our four-legged friends the special attention that they deserve.
Our Family:
Teri Boyd(Founder/Owner/Operator/Groomer)
Teri started pet rescue and dog training in 1981. She worked at Klein Animal Hospital in Spring for 5 years before
entering the inaugural Veterinary Technician Program at Tomball College - which in now one of the premier vet tech programs
in the country. Teri is a charter member of Caring Critters Animal Assisted Therapy and was the temperament tester for that
organization for 7 years. She has been involved in numerous animal rescue organizations such as Homeless Pet Placement League
(HPPL), Dog Rescuers, and Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP). One of her rescued golden retrievers, named Foxmoor‘s
Fancy Fletcher, was shown in track, field, and obedience, and is the namesake for Foxmoor Kennel. Teri has also attended grooming
school and has been grooming both cats and dogs for 18 years. She has finished her champion Chihuahua, Fajita, and has recently finished
showing her champion Japanese Chin, Pepe. She is currently on the go with our Mobile Grooming Pet Salon and shows Chihuahuas
and Japanese Chins in her spare time.
Susan Boyd,CKO (Owner/Operator/Groomer)
Susan has been involved in animal rescue, pet
therapy, and dog training for over 20 years. She has been grooming animals for the past 5 years. She was an area representative
for the American Boarding Kennels Association (ABKA) region 8 - Texas. Susan has been accredited by the ABKA as a Certified
Kennel Operator (CKO), a distinction afforded less than 1% of all kennel operators in the United States and Canada.
"The Girls"(trained
handlers/pet lovers)
Cori - the oldest of Teri's daughters - Cori is in charge of the "clean-up crew"
and is head honcho of "Doggy Day Care" - the dogs love her, just ask Baylor!!
Jenny - second in line - Jenny is our "Jack of
all Trades". She tends to whatever needs to be done.
Ariana - middle child - Ariana is our
AKC Junior Handler. She is our little "dog whisperer". She has a special touch and the dogs treat her like she‘s
one of them.
Raven
- "wild child" - Raven likes to think that she can hang with the big girls. Right now, Raven is our
doggy "spoiler". If we can‘t find her, we only have to go as far as the kennel and there we will find her
curled up in a run asleep with a dog.
Erica - "the baby" - Erica is Teri‘s shadow (and Granddaddy‘s). She likes
to help clean up while Teri is grooming.
Mamaw and Granddaddy(Gopher/Babysitter/Laundry Connesieur)
Foxmoor
Kennel would not be what it is today if not for Mamaw and Granddaddy. Unfortunately, they have decided that it‘s time
for them to retire so they are not as active in the business as they once were. They like to "gopher" things so
they can hang out at our friendly Wal-Mart and catch up on what‘s new in Tomball. Thank you Mom and Dad for all that
you have done.
